I'm Mrs. Oh My Gosh That Brittny's Shameless

Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

I seriously wish I could fly to a dozen different states, scoop you all up, and take you to my neighborhood (wherever it shall be…)! You guys would be the best neighbors ever! Just think Lucy and Ethel without the crazy antics- although if you’re living next to me I can’t make any promises that there won’t be any of those.

I want to say thank you to all of you that sent me lots of encouraging words the last two days. I felt incredibly loved and thought of. Thought of… okay you English teachers, get over yourselves. Anyway, thank you so much for your friendship. I truly count you all as my personal friends. My 3 years here did not bring me very many “real life” friends, and so many times I came to you all and you were there- even when it was across an ocean. Now- now we’ll be in the same country! Like- “Hey, why don’t we meet and it will only be a 5 hour drive!” same country!

Don’t tell Will, but you’re all invited to a gigantic house warming party when we move. I may hand you a paint brush and put you to work, but hey- everything is more fun with friends (and perhaps wine). Plus half of you have either bought a place or redecorated your houses since I’ve known you- so you’re FULL of ideas! This is the best idea ever! Painting Party Weekend 08!

Okay- I guess I better run that by Will before I have 60 ladies from all over the US show up at my door. That goes a little beyond a girl’s weekend. That’s more like college sorority house gone mid twenties with husbands and babies. Yeah- Will would LOVE grown women giggling and acting like high schoolers- all with paint, wine, and sharp tools within reach. Not…

I started looking for houses yesterday. Ladies, it’s a dangerous, dangerous thing to allow a woman to look for houses. I had us living in 3,500 sq. foot homes with heated floors and in ground pools. Yeah, looking was lots of fun, but I seriously need to buckle down and lock into reality- which is far from heated floors! But it’s so darn fun…

To answer some of your questions- Will is hanging around and helping us get ready for the big move. We’ll fly out together (with the doggies) in a couple weeks. From there we’ll begin the house hunt- which I’m officially dreading. I hate the idea of trying to find “the perfect house” in a matter of days, but thus far God has worked everything else out so I expect this situation to be no different. Will has called family that live near where we’ll be, so we have a few ideas of places to start looking. To answer your question about where we’ll be living- we’ll be close enough to drive to OU games each weekend- which is all you really need in life right (ha)?

Oh guys- now all I need is for us to have a Big Huge Decorating Party Weekend! Oh- and a house and a car and some other (very) important things… but you get the point.

I just wanted to write to say thank you so much for helping me through these 3 years. I’m not sure you’ll ever know how much I appreciate you guys, and to have you share in my joy and be excited for me makes me so happy. I’m glad we can celebrate things with each other.

Continuing to keep you posted… <3

Big Huge Decorating Party Weekend 08- be there or be square.

Oh, and I’ll keep you posted on any houses for sale next door to ours- (so you can run away in fear and tell any prospective buyers to do the same!)!

Why do I feel like I did the three weeks before high school graduation? It’s so exciting, but also kinda sad. But also, um… not happening to me. I am vicariously re-graduating high school through you - is that weird?

Looking for houses is an exhausting process - it’s actually a good thing you have a time frame in which to make a decision. I’m sure you’ll find something you just love, and when you do, you’ll know. Much luck to you! I can’t wait to read how it goes.

Of course we’re thinking of you! smile I’m sure Will wouldn’t mind if we held back the wine until after painting! haha wink

Good luck with the house hunt.  It’s so fun to look at houses - but so stressful when you actually have to think about BUYING one.

I’ll be praying that everything goes smoothly in you last weeks here and the coming weeks in America (we’re going to be on the same continent - yippee!)

I’m totally there for the Big Huge Decorating Party Weekend… as long as gas doesn’t get to $5/gallon.  rasberry And I know you won’t have any trouble finding a great house.  I mean, the people on House Hunters on HGTV only look at three houses and pick one!!!  AND on the international version, they are only there for like, three days, and they buy a house!  :D haha But seriously, I know that you guys will find a great place.  I’m going to live vicariously through your house buying experience, since we can’t buy a house yet.  Ok?  :D :D :D

Wow, how exciting. I wish I had found you earlier so I could have heard all about your stay in Kuwait. Guess I’ll have to read your archives and catch up! Good luck on the house hunting and the whole move thing!!

In case you didn’t know, I found your blog through DadGoneMad. I’ve posted a complete list of everyone who left their blog link on his Big Big Stars post a while back in a post of my own in April called Blog Rolling With My Homies over on my blog, so if you want to see it come on over and sit a spell. I don’t bite..…that hard anyway!

If you did know just overlook this and pretend I said something funny since my brain feels like mush from trying to comment on all 217 on the list because somebody had the bright idea to challenge me to it!!

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I just now read the last three posts and OMG! I am SO happy to hear that Brittny. All of it! That you guys are moving to the states with a job that is going to make you happy! I am just so happy!

I feel crummy though! I am so sorry I am so slow to read this good news! I should have been chiming in thoughts of well wishes already but I have been busy with our stuff. So it’s belated but it’s as heartfelt as it gets!!! Oh God is going to bless you guys with a home-don’t you worry! I know it. I have the paint supplies and give me a few more months and I can drink the wine! I have no experience with moving to another country but when I left my hometown for here it was sad and exciting and all of those emotions wrapped into one. But worth it at the same time. Oh congrats on this SUPER big decision! Ok. Well I have rambled but I had a lot to catch up on!!! Take care and good luck with the house search! I can’t wait to see where God takes you guys!

I’m so excited for you! I can’t believe that you are finally moving back home!! I wish you the best of luck with house hunting. The decorating party sounds like fun! I’ve always thought that we should have a middle meeting place one weekend and have all our blogging friend meet for the weekend. That would be so much fun.
Anyways, I hope it all goes very smoothly for you and I wish you the best of luck!!!

Aww thanks! I’ll so be there! haha

It’s just awesome to think that you’ll be back in the states...paying ridiculous amounts for gas like the rest of us! I just can’t believe it. You’ve been in Kuwait for so long, you’ve become “my friend who lives in Kuwait”...that’s all I’ve known for you. I think this will be fun and exciting, and how great is it that you get to shop for a house and a car??? Every woman’s dream! haha...good luck though, it’s the perfect market for house buying!

Sorry I haven’t said this earlier because I’ve been a slacker of a blogger and that includes commenting, but I am excited for you as you’re going on this new phase of your lives. I know it’s a lot of changes at one time and probably pretty overwhelming sometimes, but just follow as you are led and you’ll always be in the right place! (That’s so cheesy--it sounds like a bad Hallmark card!)

All this talk of house hunting and decorating is making me antsy to do the same!  It’s always funner without the stress of a time crunch though.

I have to admit that Oklahoma wasnt exactly what I was thinking. wink You were “supposed” to be in the Chicago area.  I dont know why, but that was the story in my head.  And we’d meet at the cheesecake factory or Ethel’s Chocolate Cafe and go next door and have pedicures just for fun.  I think my mom should have let me watch more tv and play less “make-believe” haha.

My best wishes and prayers are with you always.
