I'm Mrs. Oh My Gosh That Brittny's Shameless

Once a Man, Twice a Child

I was up before 5:00 yesterday morning with a sick husband and barking dog.

Why are men so much worse about being sick than women? Seriously!

I don’t think men could ever handle pregnancy or childbirth or PMS… they’re the biggest babies ever!

“Feel my head.”

“I’m shivering.”

“Ow! My body is achy.”

“Will you make me tea? It tastes better when you do it, and I don’t know how.”

Sigh. I love him, and I know I’m bad too, but at 5:00 in the morning!?! Yeah- it’s enough to drive me batty.

In sickness and in health, right?

I had to go to three different stores yesterday- three!

Two pharmacies were closed until 10:00, so I decided to bite the bullet and go to Wal-mart.

Amazingly, their pharmacy was closed until 10:00 too.

Sigh.

For some ridiculous reason Will wanted me to talk to a pharmacist. Apparently because I’m a moron sitting in a pile of my own drool and can’t piece together the fact that a runny nose, sore throat, and slight fever equaled a freaking cold or possibly the flu.

Sigh.

I was over waiting until 10:00 to talk to a pharmacist. I grabbed a box of Tylenol Cold, a thermometer, juice, and a bag of Soft Batch cookies.

The cookies? Yeah- those were for me.

For my troubles.

For my strength in nursing my poor sick husband back to health.

I believe this purchase was TOTALLY justifiable and does not count towards my, “Eat healthier Resolution (I use that term very loosely, by the way).’”

He should be glad I didn’t buy vodka!

Only kidding.

Kind of…

And another week begins…

Except you can’t by vodka at the grocery stores here.  Keep an eye on Will.  I started out like that last Tuesday and ended up in the doc’s office on Friday morning.  The diagnosis?  Bronchitis...now I have a z pack, prednisone, and an inhaler.  So, just keep an eye on things.  Poor Will!  My mom gave me sprite in my special Hello Kitty sippy cup last night...perhaps Will needs a special OU sippy cup?

I have some vodka if you want.

Men are totally babies when they’re sick....I hope he feels better soon!!  AND that you don’t CATCH it!  Uck!

I hope Will is feeling better soon.  I’m pretty sure the cookies were TOTALLY justifiable.  mmmm soft batch cookies.....

I second Jacqueline.  There is a really bad strain of bronchitis going around down here.  I have had it, got it first of Nov and still have a cough.  Kevin had it the week of Christmas, and he is getting over it.  It is a fever, 2-3 days worth.  And a cough.  Send him to the Dr.

Hope he feels better soon (so you won’t HAVE to eat all the cookies. . .lol) and that you don’t catch it. Take care and best wishes in the new year!

Yeah, men are babies when they are sick. It does make you wonder about if they could handle PMS. I don’t think they could!

Eat the cookies, hang in there and do get sick!

You’re totally right about men and sickness.  My husband gets a cold and it’s like the world is going to end.

And as far as “eating healthier”?  Just eat one less cookiethan you normally would and you haven’t broken your resolution!  Man, I should have been a lawyer!

Craig is the same way when he’s sick! It just about drives me crazy.

I’m loving Kristin’s “eathing healthier” solution. :D

Yeah, I know what you mean.  Gregg turns into a big baby whenever he gets sick.  Thankfully, it’s not that often.  He tends to get food poisoning more than just a regular, plain old cold or fever.  Hmmm, strange.  Is it my cooking?
